The History

The world labels Black women as "tough" to justify neglecting them. This work is a reclamation of their right to softness, elegance, and high-level femininity. It challenges the insidious propaganda that erases the personhood of Black women, replacing it with a vignette of the reality I saw growing up: my own mother’s grace.
